How to turn a good idea into a scamming mess
Being scammed is one thing but having my subscribers being scammed because of me is awful !
The reason I wasn’t able to pinpoint the scam earlier is that the program was totally regular and interesting at the beginning then the marketer changed it after a lot of people susbcribed.
Fortunately the program was free at the beginning.
Here’s what happened :
Do you remember my message about Russel BRUNSON’s viral secret program ? The idea was this : When you register to the website, you also subscribe to 6 marketer’s newsletters and take the place of the sixth, who takes the place of the fifth etc….
It means that each person below you is added to your list but also the persons who subscribe afterward. Each rank you move up to, your list grown exponentially.
As I told you it was a brilliant idea but it was without counting with Russel and co’s greed.
After a few days where thousands of people registered for the free program and started to receive some subscription to their list they all received an email, a new step was added to the program that promised to increase exponentially the results.
I, like the others, went to see what was that extra step and guess what it was : Russel was proposing to add your newsletter to a seventh position and lock it there for 99 dollars ! So for 99.00$ you’ll be granted that every person who subscribe to the others lists will also subscribe to yours, everytime….
Well ok but how many 7th place are there ? And why are the 6 first of the list always the same ?
Anyway, I decided not to buy their “incredible” option. After, all, if the rest was free it was automatic to work if I promoted it a little no ? The problem was that you don’t have stats, don’t know were you are in the list nor even if you have moved or not (want stats ? then pay the 99$).
As the number of people promoting the viral secret get huge I then realised that something strang was hapenning, mathematicaly the number of people subscribing to my list was incorrect. What I mean by that is that after promoting the website to hundred of people I had only 4 people in my list after 2 weeks ! Not normal.
I then understood what was happening. When you subscribe to the website you also subscribe to the first 6 newsletters, the people you promote will then subscribe to 5 newsletter and yours but only the people you are promoting. All the other people who subscribe to the viral secret via another link keep on subscribing to the same first newsletters.
What that means ? It means that contrary to what Russel says, he will not build your list for you. In fact you will build his list for him.
In fact, the only persons who Russel Brunson is really building his list for are those 6 first marketers you see in the website. Any person subscribing to the website is obliged to subscribe to those first people, talk about a major list building ! If you think that perhaps several thousand people have already registered you can do the maths yourself ….
It’s not exactly what is explained in the website. if you read it carefully you are sure that you will rotate with them also, which not the case.
Well, as I told you, I’m angry, not only to have trusted this guy but also to see that in fact it is more and more obvious that most gurus are just “joking” at us while “milking the cow” instead of being at the service of their customers, what they should be.
“The viral secret” has been removed from the top 50.
