Here are some ideas that you can use to improve your customer service.

Send out an e-mail to your list and ask the people on it what they would like to see you do to improve your business. The most important thing is to let them know you really do care about their opinion, but that you may not be able to act on every suggestion given. You may be shocked by the information you get. In fact, you might remind some of the recipients about things they had been meaning to buy from you. Your email, though not actually soliciting sales, may add to your bottom line.

Run a giveaway for past customers. People will be reminded that they want to get in touch with you. Don’t offer something free to each person who gets back in touch. You design the contest. You could ask a simple trivia question or ask for feedback on your business. Whatever you ask, you may be overwhelmed with the responses. Make sure your e-mail is up and working. You can lose sales very quickly if people write to you only to have their e-mails bounce. Make sure you keep your e-mail inbox below its limits and that it is accepting inbound e-mails. When many people get their e-mails bounced back, you may also get the reputation of being a spammer, which is another reason to keep your inbox working well!

When someone is thinking about buying something, he wants to be sure that the seller is someone he can trust and who will treat him with respect. That is all customer service is: providing the buyer with a convenient, enjoyable and respectful experience with your products or services. Once you get into the habit, you’ll find it’s easy to do!
